The Wedding Music Guide was very
helpful.
Ms. Covell, Bride
When each niece told me she planned
to be married, I had the perfect gift. Each was
busy with a medical career, and each was living
in a different state than the one in which she
would be married. Each needed to make informed
decisions about the music selection, and the decision
needed to be made efficiently. The Wedding
Music Guide was the answer. Although
one planned a country wedding in the garden and
the other planned a city wedding in a church,
each found the Guide equally
helpful in choosing the music and making the arrangements.
With their thanks, I felt I had contributed to
their lovely weddings.

Although directed towards the couple
to be wedded, Jane Salemson's The Wedding
Music Guide and tape would be extremely
useful to any musician entering or already in
the realm of wedding music. As an amateur/semi-professional
pianist and cellist who has been involved with
wedding music for over 15 years, I only wish this
wonderful reference had come along sooner!
Concise yet thorough, the guide
explores not only potential musical selections
from a wide variety of styles but also covers
the structure/instrumentation of different ensembles,
matters of business and etiquette, and various
often-neglected logistic concerns (e.g., performance
space, temperature, and lighting). And the outstanding
cassette tape does a beautiful job of introducing
various musical possibilities.
I give this work my strongest recommendation!
